The Pakistan-China Calligraphic Art Exhibition opened today at the Communication University of China, celebrating the timeless beauty of Urdu and Chinese calligraphy as a vibrant symbol of cultural harmony and the “iron brotherhood” between the two nations. Running from September 22–25, the exhibition is being held alongside the international conference on “Protecting and Promoting the Diversity of Cultural Expressions,” with participants from 23 countries — giving Pakistan-China art a truly global platform.
The showcase brings to Beijing ten of the finest works earlier displayed in Islamabad at the National Language Promotion Department, highlighting shared heritage and unity. Organizers described calligraphy as more than an artistic expression, calling it “a bridge of ink” that transcends language and geography, strengthening people-to-people ties.
The event was jointly organized by China’s Institute for a Community with Shared Future (ICSF) and Pakistan’s National Language Promotion Department (NLPD), and inaugurated by Prof. Dr. Li Huailiang, Dean of ICSF; Khalid Taimur Akram, Executive Director of PRCCSF; and the DG of NLPD, Ministry of National Heritage and Culture Division, Pakistan. Analysts say the exhibition not only cements cultural bonds but also reinforces the broader narrative of Pakistan-China friendship moving beyond economics into art, heritage, and soft power diplomacy.
