Zardari’s China Tour Sparks Fresh Wave of Economic and Cultural Cooperation

President Asif Ali Zardari, during his ongoing 10-day visit to China, has reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to deepening ties with Beijing, securing key agreements to boost trade, industrial growth, and cultural exchange. In Xinjiang’s Kashgar city, Zardari met top Chinese officials, including Vice Governor Nie Zhuang, with both sides vowing to expand cooperation under the longstanding China-Pakistan friendship. Overseeing the signing of several MoUs, Zardari hailed new ventures—including a textile industrial park, emergency equipment supply, and livestock sector modernization—as game-changers for Pakistan’s economy, food security, and disaster readiness.

He praised China’s development under President Xi Jinping’s leadership and said the Chinese people’s warmth and progress inspired him. Earlier in the week, both countries signed additional agreements to collaborate in agriculture, environmental protection, and mass transit development.
