Pakistan Honors Two Chinese Leaders with Civil Awards for Strengthening Bilateral Relations

In a ceremony underscoring the deep-rooted partnership between Pakistan and China, the Government of Pakistan conferred prestigious civil awards on two prominent Chinese figures for their outstanding contributions to bilateral cooperation.

At an official investiture ceremony held at the Embassy of Pakistan in Beijing, Ambassador Khalil Hashmi presented the awards on behalf of the President of Pakistan. Fu Zhiheng, President of the China Great Wall Industry Corporation, received the Hilal-i-Quaid-i-Azam, while Zhang Baozhong, Director of the China Peace and Development Fund, was honored with the Tamgha-i-Imtiaz.

Ambassador Hashmi praised both recipients for their long-standing dedication to advancing Pakistan-China relations, stating that their efforts are “not just a single movement, but part of a much larger, ongoing story” of strategic cooperation between the two nations.

Fu Zhiheng was recognized for his instrumental role in Pakistan’s space program, including the launch of remote sensing satellites vital for agriculture and disaster management. His efforts also facilitated the establishment of the Pakistan Space Center—marking a major milestone in the country’s scientific and technological advancement.

Zhang Baozhong was honored for his transformative leadership as head of the China Overseas Ports Holding Company, where he led the development of the Gwadar Port project. His initiatives significantly contributed to regional connectivity, economic growth, and the strengthening of Pakistan-China ties. Even after completing his official tenure, Zhang continued to play a vital role in promoting bilateral cooperation.

The ceremony highlighted the enduring nature of Pakistan-China friendship, with both awardees serving as symbols of the close collaboration that underpins the strategic partnership.
