President Asif Ali Zardari witnessed the signing of a key MoU between MFTC Coal Gasification & Manufacturing and Sino Sindh Resources, a Shanghai Electric subsidiary, to advance the Thar Block-1 Integrated Energy Project. During his visit, Zardari also met 17 Pakistani trainees participating in the project’s High-Quality Operation Elite Program, praising their efforts to enhance skills and contribute to the project’s success. Shanghai Electric, active in Pakistan since 1992, has played a vital role in major energy projects, training over 10,800 local professionals to date, strengthening the deep-rooted China-Pakistan partnership.
The president encouraged continuous learning and innovation to ensure the project’s high-quality development and long-term sustainability. The Thar Block-1 project remains a flagship initiative under CPEC, promising to boost Pakistan’s energy security and economic growth.
