President Asif Ali Zardari, accompanied by First Lady Aseefa Bhutto Zardari and PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, visited the historic Memorial of the First National Congress of the Communist Party of China in Shanghai, calling it an honour and paying tribute to China’s remarkable rise as a global power. Reaffirming the strength of the all-weather Pakistan–China friendship under President Xi Jinping’s vision, Zardari highlighted the deep respect of the Pakistani people for China’s development journey. During the visit, the First Lady and President also met Ms. Hao, Vice President of the China-Africa Chamber of Commerce & Industry, who proposed establishing a Pakistan–China Chamber of Commerce. Zardari welcomed the idea, assuring full support to boost trade, investment, and business-to-business cooperation, opening new avenues for economic collaboration between the two nations. The visit reflects Islamabad’s commitment to strengthening people-to-people ties alongside economic partnerships. It also underscores Pakistan’s intent to align more closely with China’s growth story and global leadership.
